 Makar Sankranti is a Hindu festival that marks the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign of Makara (Capricorn) on its celestial path. It is celebrated on January 14th every year and marks the end of the winter solstice and the start of longer days. The festival is celebrated with different rituals and customs in different parts of India, but it is primarily known as a harvest festival. It is a time for people to come together to thank the gods for a bountiful harvest and to pray for a successful harvest in the coming year. In many parts of India, it is a time for flying kites, exchanging sweets, and taking a dip in holy rivers, which is believed to purify the soul and bring blessings. In some regions, the festival is also associated with the god Surya (the sun god) and is celebrated as a day to honor the deity. Makar Sankranti is also significant for the farmers, as it marks the end of the Rabi crops and the start of the new crop season, it is time for them to celebrate their har
